Residents of the country will have a four-day holiday from December 1 to December 4; here are the rules to remember.

The United Arab Emirates has established enhanced Covid safety protocols for celebrations marking the country’s 50th National Day, which will take place next month.

On the occasion of Commemoration Day and UAE National Day, residents will be given a four-day holiday from Wednesday, December 1 to Saturday, December 4.

Celebratory activities are only open to Covid-vaccinated citizens or those who have a green pass on their AlHosn app, according to the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).

Attendees must show proof of a negative Covid test within 96 hours of the event. According to Dr. Saif Al Dhaheri, NCEMA spokeswoman, their temperatures will be taken before they are allowed to enter.

Event venues can accommodate up to 80% of their total capacity. Masks must be worn, and attendees must keep a social distance of 1.5 meters.

Only members of the same family are allowed to sit or stand together without the need for social distancing.

Attendees were advised by the NCEMA to avoid physical pleasantries such as handshakes and embraces.

“Event organisers will assemble special teams to guarantee that everyone follows the routine,” Dr. Saif stated. To avoid congestion, they will monitor the event’s admission and exit points.”
